Baldwin Vineyard

August 9, 2018
Dog-friendly. Picnic friendly. Goats and alpacas. Pond. Food trucks and music on weekends. Firepit. Volleyball net.

We started our 2018 season with a trip to Baldwin Vineyards in Pine Bush, NY. We went on a Thursday, so we did not have the weekend experience, but it turned out to be very nice.

When we arrived it felt like we were pulling into someone’s driveway…I was a little unsure about this destination. Then we saw the pond and goats. Well, I do love animals and bodies of water.

We entered the tasting room. Not particularly well decorated, and if you know anything about me, I am all about ambiance. But, such nice people and nice local wine selection, especially the lighter wines (most of their wines are light.) We liked the Baldwin Blush.

A very nice server told me that they have food trucks and music on the weekends. There are no vineyards here, but they make the wines on the premises. There is a tent with picnic tables, 2 firepits, the volleyball net and 2 rescued alpacas nearby. Not as upscale as some of the wineries we’ve been to, but all-in-all a nice, welcoming experience.

Bonus—bought fresh corn at a stand on the way home. Yum!

The wines are well priced. A tasting is $10.00 for 6 varieties.
